Creation Ending 1: A Single Order

Spoiler Notice: This series covers the Canon of Creation and the Canon of Vengeance in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, including the six major endings. The two paths and each ending are distinct alternatives. This is not a transcription of the original game's dialogue or a novelization, but an original commentary and critique that reads the choices and emotions of the characters based on major events. Unstated inner thoughts are distinguished as interpretations, and the illustrations are AI reconstructions based on public materials.

In the Canon of Creation of Shin Megami Tensei V, the choice surrounding the Throne of God is a critical turning point that determines the foundation of the world. Among these, the will to uphold order presents the most classical form of a worldview. The world that Ichiro Dazai and Abdiel aim for seems to quell chaos and restore peace, but the weight of freedom that humanity must pay in return is by no means light. We analyze what kind of sensation a world built under the name of God's Order leaves behind, and how that choice connects with the characters' paths.

The Creation of Order chosen by Ichiro Dazai is the path to uphold God's law and maintain the existing hierarchy. This is an ideological decision to exclude chaos and reshape the world under absolute laws. In this path, the protagonist cooperates with Abdiel, surpasses other Nahobino candidates to head toward the Throne, and eventually leads to a confrontation with Lucifer. Just because someone follows Dazai does not mean all companions survive, which shows the price to be paid in the process of aiming for a world where human will is completely subordinated to God's providence.

Abdiel is the core driving force of this path, regarding God's Order as the only truth of the universe. For her, order is not a subject of compromise, and sacrifices to uphold it are considered an inevitable process. The alliance between Dazai and Abdiel excludes human emotional agitation and focuses solely on fulfilling divine duty. Their relationship is an example of how the value of order operates as a massive system beyond individual beliefs.

In the process of heading toward the Throne, clashes with other Nahobino candidates are an unavoidable sequence. The protagonist must eliminate beings that threaten order and prove the legitimacy of their choice. This goes beyond simply defeating hostile forces; it is an essential purge process to build a world ruled by God's law. The conflicts that arise during this process clearly reveal how much exclusion and sacrifice are required for order to be maintained.

The confrontation with Lucifer is the climax that tests the logic of the Creation of Order. Lucifer points out the cycle of reincarnation caused by God's Order and the resulting stagnation, asking if this world is truly peaceful. This confrontation is more than a simple armed conflict; it is a philosophical debate where the forces trying to adhere to the existing order and the will of chaos trying to destroy it collide head-on. The protagonist's victory means that God's law has overwhelmed chaos.

This path shows a cross-section of control and oppression that occurs when the value of order is enforced. The world where conflict has disappeared looks peaceful, but behind it lies a static state where human free will has been castrated. Through this ending, the player witnesses how much the comfort provided by order sacrifices human subjectivity. It does not present a moral correct answer, but exposes the tense relationship between order and freedom as it is.

Chapter 2: The Exchange of Peace and Choice

The world where the Creation of Order has arrived maintains a static state where all conflicts have been erased. The world realized by Dazai and Abdiel is perfectly controlled under God's law, and no further chaos or strife is allowed. The appearance of Tokyo reflected on the screen is quiet and peaceful, but paradoxically, it is like a stuffed landscape lacking vitality. Here, human will is subordinated to God's providence, and the room to pioneer one's own destiny disappears.

The peace provided by this ending is a result obtained at the cost of human choice. The absence of conflict means that the possibility of change has also been blocked. Humans no longer need to create their own values or test their destiny, remaining as beings who conform to the given order. This is the salvation Dazai craved, and at the same time, an indicator showing that individuality as a human has been completely absorbed into God's order.

The problem of the cycle that Lucifer warned about is not completely resolved in this ending either. Although God's Order covered everything and brought temporary peace, questions remain about whether it can last forever. As order becomes stronger, the power of chaos that reacts against it is bound to accumulate potentially. This ending may have succeeded in suppressing conflict, but it is unknown whether it has completely removed the fundamental spark.

To the player, this ending comes not as a victory, but as a huge period. The relationships with characters built up during the journey and the agony they experienced lose meaning within the huge framework of God's Order. Even though a world where no one dies and no one suffers has arrived, the human worries that the protagonist and companions had no longer have a place to stand. This leaves a strange emptiness along with a sense of accomplishment, making one think about the results of the choice again.

Even if the value of order seems morally justified, it becomes violent the moment it is enforced. This ending shows that peace does not necessarily coexist with freedom. The question of whether peace that conforms to an order given from the outside is true happiness remains valid. The world built by Dazai and Abdiel reveals the logic of control and oppression hidden behind order, and asks the player what kind of world they want to live in.
