Michael De Santa dreams of a legitimate life, free from the shackles of a criminal, by participating in film production. However, the interference of Devin Weston and the discord within his neglected family put him to the test once again. This part covers Michael's journey toward the completion of the film and the reconciliation of his family.

Spoiler Notice: This is a 20-part detailed series explaining the GTA V single-player campaign from the prologue to the three endings. This is a narrative commentary based on in-game events and is not an official novel or script. Simultaneously occurring missions and choice events may vary in chronological order. Heist approaches and Endings A, B, and C are mutually exclusive alternatives, not consecutive events. Michael De Santa arrives at Richards Majestic Studios, the film production site of Solomon Richards. Upon entering the studio, Michael witnesses Solomon being brutally beaten by Rocco Pelosi and his associate Gianni. Rocco is attempting to force his way into the film production process, pressuring Solomon with the same violent methods he has used in the past.

As Michael assesses the situation and approaches, Rocco and Gianni ignore him, quickly board their vehicle, and flee the studio. Solomon, who had fallen to the floor, rises with Michael's help. Solomon earnestly begs Michael to deal with the two thugs definitively so they can no longer harass him.

Michael immediately boards his vehicle and begins a pursuit in the direction Rocco and Gianni fled. A fierce chase ensues across the complex roads of Los Santos. Michael pursues Rocco's vehicle to the end, finally blocking their path and forcing the car to a stop.

After the vehicle stops, Rocco and Gianni attempt to resist by drawing weapons, but Michael quickly uses his firearm to kill both men on the spot. In this process, Michael realizes that while he dreams of legitimate film production, the way he solves problems still relies on the same violence as his days as a criminal.

Having completed the mission, Michael returns to Richards Majestic Studios and heads to Solomon's office. Solomon expresses deep gratitude to Michael for resolving the troublemakers who were threatening him. In return, he announces that he will grant Michael the title of co-producer for the film 'Meltdown'.

Michael is shocked to learn that his name will appear in the actual film credits and is momentarily speechless. This was the moment he received official recognition as a member of the Vinewood film industry, something he had craved his entire life. Leaving the office, Michael calls his wife, Amanda, and proudly informs her that he has finally achieved something positive and productive in his life.

However, despite this achievement, the environment surrounding Michael remains precarious. The fact that he contributed to the film does not completely cleanse the price of his past crimes. The immense capital power held by Devin Weston and the unstable production environment of Solomon remain triggers that could threaten Michael's new life at any time.

When Michael visits Solomon's office again, the tycoon Devin Weston and his lawyer, Molly Schultz, are present. Devin pretends to praise Michael for his hard work on 'Meltdown', but soon reveals the shocking plan to halt film production entirely. He intends to collect a massive insurance payout, bulldoze the studio site, and build luxury condos to reap huge profits.

Solomon is enraged by Devin's actions, which do not even give him a minimal chance to complete the film. He brings the original physical film reel himself to resist, but Molly uses contract clauses and legal procedures to forcibly seize the film. Molly leaves the office, claiming she will move the film to a safe place abroad to be destroyed.

Michael could never accept his first legitimate achievement, the film, disappearing so vainly. He immediately rushes out of the office and begins a fierce pursuit of Molly's vehicle. During the chase, Devin calls Michael and threatens him to stop immediately, claiming that the police and airport security escorting Molly are all under his control.

Michael ignores Devin's warning and pursues Molly, who is heading to Los Santos International Airport, to the end. Entering the airport runway, Molly loses control of her vehicle in extreme fear and panic. The police cars following her collide with structures on the runway and are destroyed in a chain reaction, and the scene instantly turns into chaos.

As the police escort collapses, Molly flees into Devin's private hangar. When Michael chases her into the hangar, a massive jet engine is running inside. Misunderstanding that Michael is going to kill her, Molly backs away in terror and drops the film on the floor.

At that moment, the powerful suction of the running jet engine engulfs Molly. Without even a chance to scream, Molly is sucked into the engine and dies a gruesome death. Michael, at the scene of the horrific accident that occurred unintentionally, retrieves only the film reel dropped on the floor, evades the swarming police, and escapes the airport.

After taking refuge in a safe place, Michael calls Solomon to inform him that he has recovered the physical film after many twists and turns. However, Solomon reveals the unexpected fact that a digital copy of the film was already safely stored, meaning there was never a risk of the film disappearing entirely in the first place.

Michael feels a sense of futility but agrees that they must hurry to finish the film before Devin interferes again. Solomon plans to hold a grand premiere of 'Meltdown' at the Oriental Theater and promises to invite Michael's family at his request. This incident leaves a deep, irreparable grudge between Michael and Devin Weston.

Michael is drinking alone in the living room of his empty Rockford Hills mansion, watching a classic movie, and falls asleep on the sofa. A while later, he is awakened by his son, Jimmy, who had left home. Jimmy apologizes for his past actions of drugging Michael and stealing his car, and suggests they create an opportunity for the scattered family to reconcile.

Jimmy tells him that his mother, Amanda, is staying with her yoga instructor, Fabien, but is not happy at all. He also advises that Amanda is worried about Michael's safety and that Michael must prove through actions that he truly cares for his family. Michael then heads to the 'Bean Machine' coffee shop where Amanda is.

Arriving at the coffee shop, Michael sits down with Amanda for the first time in a while and attempts to talk. However, Fabien, who is sitting with them, behaves shamelessly and rudely, disparaging the physiques of Michael and Jimmy and demanding that Amanda buy him new yoga clothes. Michael warns Fabien to show some respect, but he pays no heed.

Even Amanda is fed up with Fabien's attitude and gives Michael permission to hit him. Unable to bear it any longer, Michael grabs a laptop from another customer's table and strikes Fabien's face hard, knocking him down. Michael tries to apologize to Amanda for his past mistakes, and Amanda decides that they should all receive family counseling at Dr. Friedlander's office to resolve the family's conflict.

Before going to the counseling office, Michael and Jimmy head to a tattoo parlor on Vinewood Boulevard to pick up his daughter, Tracey. Jimmy hints that Tracey is meeting Lazlow Jones again to make up for the audition that Michael and Trevor ruined in the past. Entering the parlor, Michael witnesses Lazlow making inappropriate demands and hitting on Tracey.

Enraged, Michael subdues Lazlow and inflicts humiliating punishment once again. He forcibly pierces Lazlow's face with multiple piercings, tattoos ridiculous designs on his chest or back, and even cuts off his trademark ponytail with scissors. Michael threatens Lazlow to put Tracey back on the program and make her stand out.

Finally, the four family members—Michael, Amanda, Jimmy, and Tracey—all gather at Dr. Friedlander's office. However, as soon as the counseling begins, Michael and Amanda start shouting, pouring out the frustrations they have built up against each other. While the parents argue fiercely, Jimmy and Tracey sit on the sofa, staring only at their smartphones, remaining bystanders.

After the chaotic counseling session ends, Dr. Friedlander charges Michael a massive fee of $4,000. The state of the family upon returning home is far from a perfect reconciliation. Michael has not completely resolved his criminal past and the resulting cycle of control, luxury, and violence. Nevertheless, he does not give up on his attempt to restore family relationships, and this imperfect reunion becomes a small sanctuary for Michael.

This event, which deals with the final meeting with Dr. Friedlander, is an optional side mission, not a mandatory process in the game. This mission only opens after completing the 'Legal Trouble', 'Reuniting the Family', and 'FIB Raid' missions. Therefore, the situation Michael faces at this point does not exactly coincide with the time immediately after the previous events, but is a complex point in time that runs through the latter half of the story.

When Michael visits Dr. Friedlander's office for the last time, the doctor informs him that he can no longer conduct Michael's counseling. He was preparing to become a star of a television program to build his broadcasting career. Even more shocking was the fact that the doctor intended to take commercial advantage by using the intimate counseling cases he had with Michael for his own broadcast and book publication.

Even though Michael confessed his murders and criminal facts, the doctor regarded them not as patient treatment but only as tools for his own fame. Dr. Friedlander, having revealed the truth, senses Michael's anger and hurriedly leaves the office, escaping in his vehicle.

At this point, Michael can pursue the fleeing doctor and kill him, or conversely, let him go. Whichever choice is made depends on the player's personal decision, and there is no fixed ending that is the official canon of the game. If the doctor is spared, news reports later state that he was killed by another disgruntled patient before his television show could even air.

Around this time, Michael's relationships with the people around him are developing in different ways. His relationship with filmmaker Solomon Richards is bound by firm trust ahead of the successful premiere of 'Meltdown'. Through Solomon, Michael tastes the legitimate sense of accomplishment he had so desired and glimpses the possibility of a new life.

His relationship with his protégé, Franklin Clinton, has gone beyond the simple category of mentor and student. The two have overcome numerous crises together and are strengthening their bond as the most reliable partners in planning and executing joint crimes. On the other hand, his relationship with his old associate, Trevor Philips, is in a state of tense anxiety and distrust as the truth of the incident that occurred in North Yankton in the past comes to the surface.

The episode with Dr. Friedlander shows the hypocritical side of the relationships Michael has formed in Los Santos. Despite the imperfect reunion with his family and the positive change of film production, Michael still faces the rifts created by his past. He must make his final choices to fully regain control over his life amidst the looming, massive threats.
