Lamar Davis arrives to find Franklin Clinton, accompanied by his Rottweiler, Chop. Lamar proposes a plan to kidnap D, a member of the Ballas gang, to demand a ransom and elevate their status. Franklin senses how sloppy and dangerous the plan is, but unable to break the stubbornness of his old friend, he reluctantly joins in. The two climb into Lamar's van and head toward Strawberry, where D is frequently spotted.

Spotting D in a Strawberry alley, Lamar immediately jumps out of the van to threaten him. However, D quickly hops onto a nearby motorcycle and begins his escape. Franklin and Lamar drive the van through the narrow alleys and busy streets of Los Santos in a fierce pursuit. Using the motorcycle's agility to weave through traffic, D enters a bus depot but crashes into a bus and falls off his bike.

After falling from the bike, D gets back up and flees between freight trains. Franklin and Lamar also exit the vehicle and begin chasing him on foot. As they risk losing D's trail due to the complex train station structure and cargo containers, Lamar releases Chop to track D's scent. Franklin follows Chop's gaze, searching the interiors of the cargo containers to narrow down D's hiding spot. When Chop briefly loses interest to focus on another dog, Franklin brings him back to continue the search.

After the search, they find D hiding in a cargo container, but he runs away again. Chop chases him down, biting and knocking him over, and Franklin catches up to prevent his escape. The two force D into the back of the van, moving to the next stage of the kidnapping. However, Lamar's amateurish criminal method immediately reveals a fatal flaw. Lamar calls the Ballas to demand a $40,000 ransom, using his own personal cell phone, which can be easily traced.

Watching this, Franklin is horrified and strongly reprimands Lamar for his obvious mistake. Because making a threat call from a personal phone allows the police to immediately identify the caller's location and identity. Ultimately, Franklin declares the kidnapping a failure and decides to release D to avoid police pursuit. Lamar expresses his dissatisfaction but cannot refute Franklin's logical point.

D is released and leaves the scene, and the kidnapping ends in vain without any results. After dropping off Lamar and taking care of Chop, Franklin feels deeply that this incident was merely an impulsive act rather than the work of a professional. Later, D reappears at the next gang deal, and their ill-fated relationship does not end here.

2. Father/Son · The Yacht on the Highway

At Michael De Santa's mansion in Rockford Hills, his wife Amanda and daughter Tracey are constantly arguing. Michael lies on a pool lounge chair with his earphones in, trying to ignore the family noise while remaining in a nervous state. At that moment, Franklin arrives to ask about the drinking session Michael suggested earlier and to seek advice. Michael initially dismisses it as just a joke and they have a light conversation.

During their conversation, Michael receives an urgent call from his son Jimmy. Jimmy confesses that he tried to secretly sell his father's yacht for money, but instead, scammers took both the boat and the sale proceeds. Furthermore, Jimmy himself is still trapped on the yacht, being dragged along on a truck driving down the highway in a desperate situation. Enraged, Michael takes Franklin and gets into Amanda's red convertible parked in front of the mansion.

The two speed down the Los Santos highway, fiercely pursuing the large truck carrying the yacht. Upon spotting the truck, Michael drives aggressively to pull his car right behind it, and Franklin climbs onto the hood of the speeding convertible to leap toward the yacht. Franklin boards the boat and begins to fight the criminals stealing it, subduing them one by one.

Meanwhile, Jimmy, who was hiding on the yacht's mast, loses his balance and ends up in a dizzying situation, hanging from the sail that extends over the highway. Michael precisely adjusts the speed of his convertible to match the movement of the truck ahead, calculating the exact spot where Jimmy will fall. Michael successfully maneuvers the car directly under the sail, catching Jimmy safely in the backseat as he falls from the air.

Immediately after rescuing Jimmy, Franklin, having dealt with all the enemies on the yacht, also returns to the convertible safely. However, due to the intense chase and collisions, the engine of Amanda's car is severely damaged, making it impossible to continue chasing the truck. In the end, Michael has no choice but to watch the truck carrying the yacht pull away, and he heads to the Los Santos Customs shop near the airport with his broken car.

Arriving at the shop, Michael cannot suppress his anger, scolding Jimmy severely for losing the yacht. Unable to control his rage, Michael asks Franklin to call him a taxi and leaves alone. Afterward, Franklin finishes the car repairs with Jimmy and returns to the Rockford Hills mansion. Jimmy suggests they hang out together, but Franklin reserves his answer and keeps his distance.

This incident shows Michael's instinct as a father who prioritizes his son's life over money or property. At the same time, despite being saved by his father's decisive help, Jimmy still maintains an attitude of not fully admitting his own faults. Franklin becomes deeply involved in the daily life of this strange and precarious family, further developing his relationship with Michael.

Fresh out of prison, Stretch arrives at Franklin's house with Lamar. Lamar reveres Stretch as a legendary figure in the gang and warmly welcomes his return, but Franklin does not trust him at all. Franklin senses that Stretch's release will break the peace of the streets and bring about ominous events, showing strong wariness. However, due to his relationship with his old friend Lamar, Franklin is forced to join their drug deal plan.

Stretch talks to Franklin about the rules of the street and instructs him to prepare weapons before the deal. Franklin drives the group to an Ammu-Nation store to purchase a pump-action shotgun and a flashlight attachment to illuminate dark areas. Once armed, the three head to an old recycling plant in La Puerta, entering deep into the building to meet the parties involved in the deal.

In a secret room inside the factory, D, the Ballas gang member whom Lamar had previously tried to kidnap and then released, was waiting. Although they gathered for a deal, Franklin immediately realizes that the atmosphere at the scene is unusual. This was a calculated ambush set by the Ballas from the start to eliminate Franklin's group. Realizing the situation, Stretch does not hesitate to pull out his gun and shoot D in the head before the conversation even ends.

As soon as D falls and the gunshot rings out, numerous Ballas members hiding throughout the factory pour out and launch an attack. Franklin, Lamar, and Stretch immediately find cover and begin to fight back. A fierce shootout ensues inside the dark and complex recycling plant, and the three continue a blood-draining advance toward the exit, breaking through narrow passages and stairs.

They barely manage to escape the factory after breaking through the Ballas members, but this time, Los Santos police helicopters and numerous patrol cars, alerted by the gunfire, have completely surrounded the scene. The group begins a desperate escape, running through nearby junkyards and complex alleys to avoid the police's line of sight. Franklin displays excellent driving skills, hiding from the police helicopter's searchlights and shaking off the pursuing police cars.

After completely shaking off the persistent police pursuit, Franklin drops Lamar and Stretch off safely near his home. Even though the incident has settled, Franklin harbors deep doubts about the intentional murder by which Stretch escalated the situation. Lamar still blindly trusts Stretch and leaves with him, but this incident solidifies Franklin's suspicion that Stretch may have led them into a trap.

This mission clearly shows the conflict Franklin experiences between street loyalty and realistic survival. Franklin recognizes the danger of Stretch and tries to keep his distance, but because of his responsibility to protect Lamar, he continues to be entangled in their dangerous path. The betrayal of Stretch, which is confirmed later, was already showing ominous signs from this point on.

This mission opens after 'Marriage Counseling,' where Michael and Franklin destroy the Madrazo hillside house. In this part, it is grouped with 'Father/Son' to examine the relationship between Michael, Jimmy, and Tracey, and it does not mean it must be completed before the jewelry store preparation. Michael tries to relax on the living room sofa watching a classic movie, but he is under extreme stress because of his son Jimmy, who is constantly shouting profanities while playing games in his room upstairs. Unable to stand it any longer, Michael storms into Jimmy's room and demands he lower the noise.

When Jimmy ignores his father's words and continues with a rebellious attitude, Michael's anger explodes, and he picks up a chair in the room, shattering Jimmy's flat-screen TV. A fierce argument between father and son follows, and Michael feels bitter about his impulsive actions and the fact that he has not spent enough time with his children. Eventually, as a gesture of reconciliation, Michael suggests they go to Vespucci Beach to ride bikes, and Jimmy reluctantly agrees.

Arriving at Vespucci Beach, the two rent bikes and begin riding along the coastal bike path. Throughout the ride, Jimmy complains that his life is ruined because of his father's past criminal record and hypocritical attitude. Michael suggests a bike race to the pier at the end of the beach, setting a condition that if he wins, Jimmy must find something productive to do, and if Jimmy wins, he will buy him a new TV.

After arriving at the pier, Jimmy complains that Michael is strict only with him and lenient toward his sister Tracey's delinquency. When Michael refutes this, Jimmy reveals the shocking fact that Tracey is partying with adult film producers on a yacht floating just off the coast nearby. Hearing this, Michael loses his reason and immediately dives into the sea, swimming fiercely toward the yacht.

Climbing onto the yacht, Michael wreaks havoc, ruining the party scene. He mercilessly pushes a man approaching Tracey into the sea, then forcibly drags his rebellious daughter out and puts her on a Seashark jet ski hanging at the back of the yacht. Michael starts the jet ski and begins to flee at full speed toward the beach with Tracey.

The owner of the yacht and his gang, enraged at Michael for ruining their party, pursue him on other jet skis and open fire. Michael enters the narrow and complex waterways of the Vespucci Canals to avoid the hail of bullets. He skillfully uses the bridges and curved terrain of the canals to shake off the pursuers' line of sight, successfully returning to the pier while subduing the persistent enemies.

Returning to the beach, Tracey is furious rather than grateful to Michael for bringing her back by force. She hurls harsh insults at Jimmy for snitching on her location and leaves, and Jimmy also quickly leaves, saying he didn't know his father would act so extremely. Michael, who tried to protect his family, is left alone at the pier, swallowing bitter solitude and realizing that their conflict can never be easily mended.
