NVIDIA has announced that DLSS 5 will arrive in Hogwarts Legacy on November 5. This update follows initial criticism regarding the technology's tendency to significantly alter character appearances during its March presentation.
The new implementation focuses on a more discreet visual approach. Avalanche Software utilized development tools to adjust effect intensity, prioritizing the preservation of the game's original art direction, lighting, and materials over the drastic facial transformations seen previously.
Player reactions remain mixed. While some users appreciate the more natural aesthetic, others argue that the visual improvements are too subtle to justify the performance cost. Conversely, NVIDIA reports significant technical gains, noting the model is twice as fast as the version released in September and ten times faster than the March iteration, while also reducing 4K memory consumption by 20%.
The update will be available for GeForce RTX 50 series cards, RTX Spark systems, and GeForce NOW. Additionally, NVIDIA confirmed that DLSS 5 will reach RTX Remix on October 23 and Where Winds Meet in late November.
