The update introduces significant technical improvements across all platforms, including enhanced animation fidelity, higher-quality audio, and richer environmental details. Players can expect upgraded textures alongside refined lighting and shadow effects to deepen the game's atmosphere while maintaining the original aesthetic.
Console versions will support 4K resolution at 60FPS or upscaled 4K at 120FPS. PlayStation 5 Pro users gain PSSR support, while Xbox Series X benefits from TSR upscaling and anti-aliasing. Additionally, the update adds DualSense adaptive trigger support and Xbox impulse trigger functionality, alongside spatial audio across Xbox platforms.
PC players will gain access to 4K resolution with uncapped frame rates, DLSS, and spatial audio. Across all platforms, the update includes various bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. This initiative coincides with the Metro series reaching a milestone of 50 million units sold worldwide.
