Deadlock received a massive update earlier this week that redecorated its town and added six new classes, including a tank named Rat King who originated as a fan concept before joining the official roster.
According to a voice line viewer, Rat King arrived with a total of 1534 individual utterances. Among them, 126 lines support his Rat Swarm power, where rodents leap onto enemies to deal spirit damage over time.
While some callouts are generic, many mention individual rats by name, such as Lou, Widget, or Rabies Ronnie, alongside named groups like the Pantegana boys, the McMullen gang, and Gumdrop's polycule.
The update brings an injection of personality, with Valve doubling the voice lines for all existing characters alongside the new heroes. Deadlock remains playable via invitation only, and Valve's timeline for keeping the game under wraps is uncertain.
