Microsoft has officially unveiled the Xbox Nano Controller, a new, more compact, and rectangular version of its standard gaming peripheral. Designed for portability and users with smaller hands, the device is currently available for preorder at various retailers, including Amazon, with a scheduled release date of November 4 for $49.99.

The controller measures just over five inches in length and weighs 3.5 ounces. It features 18 standard gameplay inputs and includes a rechargeable battery. A notable addition is the programmable Action Button, a small, Tic-Tac-shaped control located in the center that users can customize for shortcuts such as gameplay capture or taking screenshots.

Regarding its design, the Nano replaces the traditional ergonomic grips found on full-sized controllers with a shape intended to fit easily into a pocket. While the sticks appear shorter than those on the standard model, the device retains the familiar disc-style D-pad and the classic white-and-black color scheme accented by colorful ABXY face buttons.

The controller offers broad compatibility through Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth connectivity. This allows the device to function across a variety of platforms, including Xbox consoles, PC, Mac, and mobile devices, mirroring the connectivity options of the standard full-sized Xbox controller.
