The official Twitter account for Witch on the Holy Night recently unveiled a commemorative visual featuring a collaboration with Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Produced by ufotable and Shaft, the artwork highlights the lead characters Aoko and Madoka.
The illustration showcases distinct artistic styles from both studios. Madoka appears in her God Madoka form wielding a bow, while Aoko is depicted casting a spell. This promotional piece serves to highlight the theatrical release of the Walpurgisnacht Rising film in Japan and the upcoming Japanese premiere of the Witch on the Holy Night movie on November 20, 2026.
International audiences can expect both films to arrive in theaters soon. Walpurgisnacht Rising is scheduled for a United States release on January 16, 2027. Meanwhile, the Witch on the Holy Night movie is slated for a theatrical debut in the United States and Canada on January 29, 2027.
Beyond the theatrical releases, the previous Madoka Magica trilogy will arrive on Blu-Ray, Crunchyroll, and Netflix in late 2026. Witch on the Holy Night is currently playable on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC, with a mobile version launching on November 20, 2026.
