Chandler Riggs, known for his role in The Walking Dead, has directed and starred in a 20-minute live-action fan adaptation of Resident Evil 7. The short film depicts the garage confrontation between protagonist Ethan Winters and Jack Baker within the Baker family home.

A significant creative departure in the film involves showing Ethan Winters' face. While the original games utilize a first-person perspective that obscures the protagonist's appearance, Riggs decided to reveal the character to appeal to a broader audience beyond existing fans of the franchise.

Riggs acknowledged the difficulty of adapting the series, noting that it is impossible to please everyone. He expressed empathy for filmmaker Zach Cregger, who is currently working on his own Resident Evil project, and noted that he respects Cregger's decision to use original characters rather than adhering strictly to established lore.

The project was driven by Riggs' desire to see a faithful live-action adaptation and his passion for on-set collaboration. Although the team hoped to release their film before Cregger's upcoming movie, scheduling conflicts prevented this. Riggs remains open to future professional collaborations with Cregger.
