Bungie has confirmed that it remains committed to the Destiny franchise, with plans to reintroduce legacy content into Destiny 2. Recent reports suggest that leadership at the studio is now exploring the possibility of a modern remaster for the original Destiny title.
The speculation stems from a social media interaction by Bungie Product Lead Josh Deane. After viewing fan-made footage of the original Destiny running on PC at 4K resolution, 60fps, and a 105 field of view, Deane remarked that the game looked impressive and questioned its potential success if officially released.
Forbes journalist Paul Tassi views this interaction as a significant indicator that the studio is considering a revival of the first game. Tassi notes that the concept has circulated for some time and suggests that Sony, which now owns Bungie, frequently pursues remaster projects for its portfolio.
