Hiyd founder Salah Batroukh aims to provide health tracking without requiring users to replace their traditional timepieces with bulky wearables. The company focuses on an ecosystem of invisible health tracking that integrates with existing watches.
The device is a slim disc measuring 2.7 mm thick and weighing 7 grams. It attaches to the back of a watch using microsuction technology, a 0.3 mm thick textured silicone material that creates a vacuum without magnets or adhesives, ensuring no residue is left behind.
The sensor tracks biometrics including heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep staging, movement, calories burned, and VO2 max. Data syncs to an iOS or Android app, which utilizes AI trained on labeled activity datasets to analyze user performance and nutrition habits.
Hiyd is competing in the Startup Battlefield at TechCrunch Disrupt. The company plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign in November, with over 16,000 individuals having already made deposits for the initial units.
