Kotaro Uchikoshi, the creator behind acclaimed titles such as Zero Escape and AI: The Somnium Files, has officially introduced his new Japanese game studio, Crash Keys. The announcement was made earlier than originally intended due to the sudden cancellation of a secret project the team had been developing for approximately a year and a half.

Crash Keys was established in March 2025 and specializes in video game design, direction, and narrative writing. Uchikoshi is joined by industry veterans Akira Mine, known for work on Danganronpa 2×2 and The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, and Muri Sasaki, who previously collaborated on Zero Escape and AI: The Somnium Files.

The studio's original plan was to reveal its existence in 2027 alongside the debut of their new game. However, the unexpected cancellation of that project has left the team in a precarious position, forcing them to seek new investors and work opportunities immediately to ensure the company's survival.

Uchikoshi has publicly appealed for support, noting that the studio is actively looking for investment proposals and work requests. Interested parties are encouraged to contact the team through the official website as they aim to continue creating original, emotive experiences for a global audience.
