HoYoverse has announced that the upcoming 3.3 update for Zenless Zone Zero, titled Journey to the Sky, is scheduled for release on October 21. The update will be available across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and mobile devices, bringing new story content, events, and gameplay mechanics to the action RPG.
The update introduces two new S-rank agents. Phoenix, a fire anomaly character capable of reviving after a fatal blow, arrives in the first half. Severian, a wind attack agent specializing in automatic dodges and counterattacks, follows in the second half. Players can also expect additional outfits and trust events for these characters.
A significant gameplay addition is the introduction of pilotable mechas. During specific story missions, players will control giant robots that switch between melee and ranged attacks, utilize lasers, and interact with the environment to solve puzzles. HoYoverse confirmed this mechanic will persist in future versions.
The update expands the main narrative on the floating island of Roscaelifer and introduces quality-of-life improvements, such as a team recommendation system. Furthermore, players can earn rewards, including 10 Master Tape and 10 Boopon items, through login events.
