Key information
The UK Best Places to Work Awards 2026 ceremony was held at the Royal Institution in London on October 1. The event followed the GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit, which brought together representatives from various industry organizations, including independent studios alongside AAA and AA developers.
The primary awards honoured 25 different firms divided across small, large, and mid-sized categories. Winners are determined using scores derived from employee surveys, which account for 80% of the total, alongside company surveys making up the remaining 20%.
Special category winners included Rare receiving the Environmental Award and Middlesborough studio Dink securing the Education Award. Additionally, Snap Finger Click earned a Best Places to Work prize alongside the Diversity Award, while Jo Haslam of Snap Finger Click collected the G Into Gaming award.
Sponsors for the 2026 event included Playground Games, Amiqus, Games London, IO Interactive, and Special Effect. Representatives from Amiqus and Playground Games noted the importance of celebrating studios that translate positive workplace initiatives into practical actions.
