Saber Interactive announced the Year 3 content and update 15.0 to celebrate the second anniversary of Warhammer 40.000: Space Marine 2. However, the decision to tie a highly desired item to a Twitch subscription has angered the game community.
The item in question is the Victrix Guard Shield, a mythic shield belonging to the elite Victrix Guard formation. Fans have requested its addition to the game's customization system for two years, and the shield was already present in the game.
The reward requires a Twitch subscription costing 4,99 euros, making it the only drop requiring a paid or gifted subscription rather than free viewing time. The shield will eventually arrive in the game in a few months.
Players criticized the studio on social media, noting that Saber previously charged five euros for a voice pack before apologizing and making it free. Fans argued that charging for the game and an annual pass makes these extra charges unnecessary.
