A controversy has emerged in the Wardogs community involving streamer KatieRouu, who was banned for utilizing building mechanics to exploit the game's economy. The first-person shooter allows players to earn in-game currency through logistics and base construction, which can be converted into premium gold for cosmetic purchases.
The exploit involved the streamer and their squad placing numerous sniper towers at a forward-operating base before intentionally allowing the enemy team to capture it. By subsequently firing mortars at the base from a different location, the group generated significant in-game funds through destruction and assist rewards without participating in legitimate combat.
Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer confirmed the ban, stating that the behavior was an unintended cash loop rather than organic gameplay. Brammer noted that the squad promoted the exploit and converted illicit gains into gold bars for skins. While some community members argued the actions were legitimate, the developer maintained that the punishments are final.
In response to the incident, the developer has implemented a fix for the exploit ahead of Season 2. Additionally, the studio has introduced new data tracking systems to monitor similar behaviors and enforce rules against cash and experience point abuse.
