Key information
Developers at Bulkhead have acknowledged that the blue team in Wardogs suffers from a notoriously lower win rate compared to other factions. This performance gap is attributed to technical factors including spawn point placement and higher uniform visibility, alongside psychological elements like player sentiment.
The studio identified that new players frequently default to the blue team due to its position on the left, while the color itself is perceived as less aggressive. On the Bakurani map, specific spawn point adjustments are planned to address imbalances where the red team consistently dominated blue, while the green team leveraged a defensive two-tower setup to secure victories.
To improve the blue team's standing, Bulkhead is introducing several incentives for Season 2. Players on this team will receive increased cash and XP, along with teamplay multipliers. Additionally, a new mechanic will provide a 20% shop discount to the losing team to help them catch up.
As Wardogs remains in early access, the developers are utilizing these seasonal changes to experiment with game balance. These adjustments aim to shift the current meta and potentially improve the blue team's win percentage, though the long-term impact on player behavior and team selection remains uncertain.
