Key information
A developer known as 0xProbability has successfully integrated Minecraft into a native iOS port of GTA V. The project features the Minecraft HUD and character models, with the modder demonstrating the Ender Dragon flying through the streets of Los Santos.
The underlying GTA V port was created by C22, a student at EPFL. This version functions as a native iOS application derived from a web browser adaptation of the game. It supports multiplayer and is compatible with iOS 15 or later, as well as macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon, requiring at least 8GB of RAM.
Performance metrics for the port are notable, with the game achieving 50-60 FPS on an iPhone 17 while utilizing 1.1GB of RAM. The Minecraft integration includes functional block-building mechanics, showcasing the capabilities of modern browser-based gaming technology as of October 2026.
The development process relied heavily on automation, as 0xProbability utilized Claude Opus 5.5 to write and test the code. The modder claims they did not manually interact with the phone during the implementation of the Minecraft assets into the GTA V environment.
