Key information
Following the September 29 launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, CD Projekt Red has released Patch 5.01 to address player feedback regarding performance and visual presentation. While the remaster achieved record concurrent player counts, users reported dissatisfaction with lighting, bloom, and tone mapping, alongside missing graphics toggles on consoles.
The update introduces global improvements to character lighting, Ray Tracing, Path Tracing, and tone mapping. PC users benefit from fixes to dynamic resolution scaling and hardware-specific settings, while console players gain new graphics options for bloom, light shafts, and depth of field. Additionally, the patch includes various performance optimizations for consoles and resolves specific UI and gameplay bugs, such as ladder interaction animations and skill tooltip errors.
CD Projekt Red has also announced an upcoming update for the Nintendo Switch 2 version. This release aims to bring the platform into parity with other versions by incorporating the global changes found in Patch 5.01, while specifically targeting improvements to image sharpness and clarity.
Patch 5.01 is currently available across Steam, GOG, Epic Games, Battle.net, Xbox Play Anywhere, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players should note that a policy consent screen will reappear due to backend adjustments, and some previously opened chests in Vizima may contain duplicated items following the fix for reward delivery.
