Key information
The principal creator behind the SFO: Grimhammer 3 overhaul for Total War: Warhammer 3 deliberately corrupted their mod file. Venris took this action on account of a growing wave of unauthorized reuploads that incorporate artificial intelligence.
SFO: Grimhammer III aims to increase lore-friendliness while keeping battles entertaining through rejigged combat, adjusted battle lengths, and new abilities. Development on the update compatible with the Lords of the End Times DLC is progressing well.
Venris stated that the action was taken to highlight problems on the Steam Workshop, adding that the mod will not be paywalled and will remain on Steam once ready. Venris also warned that the project could be made private if the unauthorized AI-related reuploads persist.
In a Patreon update, Venris noted that a working version of SFO: Grimhammer 3 has been restored for game version 8.1.1 on Steam. Meanwhile, platforms like Nexus Mods have begun tightening labelling requirements for generative AI creations.
