Key information
Following the late August release of Star Wars Zero Company, developer Bit Reactor has begun bringing back some of its previously furloughed employees. While the studio faced significant uncertainty regarding staff retention during its launch period, CEO Greg Foertsch confirmed that the process of recalling team members is currently underway.
Although specific figures remain undisclosed by the studio, reports suggest the current headcount has reached over half of the pre-furlough total. It remains uncertain whether additional staff will be rehired in the future, and the company is simultaneously navigating an ongoing lawsuit involving CEO Greg Foertsch and co-founder Alison Kelly.
Reviewer Steve Watts praised the title as the next great evolution of the turn-based tactics genre. He highlighted the game's approachable prequel-era narrative and its integration of XCOM-style mechanics with unique Star Wars elements, such as using Force powers to displace enemies from cover.
Despite the niche nature of the genre, the game has received positive critical reception. Players looking for further experiences in the franchise may also consider Star Wars Galactic Racer, which is currently available.
