Key information
Thunder Lotus, the studio behind Spiritfarer, has unveiled its upcoming project titled At Fate's End. The game is described as a hybrid experience that blends elements of visual novels with action-adventure gameplay.
Players control Shan Hemlock, the Princess of Swords, who must collect blades from her family members using either diplomacy or force. The gameplay loop alternates between exploration and combat, with the latter featuring an omnidirectional attack system and abilities powered by Arcana energy.
The title features a unique card system where players equip abilities inspired by encounters with siblings. Each card functions like a tarot, offering dual effects such as dashing or double-jumping. Additionally, an insight tree requires players to combine cards gathered through conversations to resolve family conflicts.
The reviewer praised the game's hand-drawn storybook aesthetic and detailed animations, noting that the visual quality extends to menus and the overworld. At Fate's End is currently scheduled for a 2027 release.
