Sony has released a new system update for the PlayStation 5, identified as version 26.06-14.10.00. While official documentation mentions general performance enhancements and security patches, reports suggest the update specifically targets recent jailbreak attempts affecting the console.
Beyond security, the update introduces Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR) to the base PS5 model. This AI-driven upscaling technology, developed in partnership with AMD, utilizes a neural network to improve visual detail and image stability.
Although Sony confirmed that PSSR remains exclusive to the PS5 Pro, QSSR serves as a significant technological addition for standard consoles. The feature is currently active and functional within titles such as Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yotei.
