Key information

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has shared several major updates, highlighted by upcoming announcements regarding the DMZ mode following a period of silence from Infinity Ward. Alongside this, publisher Activision rolled out a fresh game trailer.

The newly released trailer debuted on Thursday Night Football and depicts a fictional storyline where North Korea launches a full-scale invasion of South Korea, threatening global stability. Players experience this conflict on the ground through a squad of young South Korean soldiers.

To combat cheating, the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system is introducing a feature called Server Culling for Modern Warfare 4. This mitigation technique works by withholding opponent location data from a user's hardware when that information should not be accessible.

Server Culling will protect every launch map, covering DMZ and Combat Outpost, alongside subsequent live-season maps for Multiplayer, DMZ, and Warzone starting in Season 1. Additionally, dedicated DMZ information drops are scheduled to begin on October 4, 2026.
