Key information
Microsoft has officially unveiled pricing and availability for the Surface Laptop Ultra following its initial reveal at Computex. Preorders for the device are currently open, with official shipments scheduled to commence on October 16.
The base configuration, priced at $2,599, features a 15-inch mini-LED display, an 18-core CPU, a 5,120-core Blackwell GPU, and 24 GB of unified memory. Higher-tier models offer up to 128 GB of memory and 1 TB of storage for $5,899, while a specialized Surface RTX Spark Dev Box is available for $5,999.
A notable hardware feature is the inclusion of a breakaway USB-C port designed to prevent accidental drops. Unlike proprietary alternatives, this port maintains compatibility with standard USB-C devices.
While the entry price is lower than some forum-based speculation, potential buyers are cautioned to await retail hardware reviews. Early prototype testing relied on preview drivers, which may not reflect final performance.
