Key information
Gravity Well, an independent studio established by former Titanfall and Apex Legends developers, recently confirmed the departure of over 40 staff members. The company stated that these layoffs were a direct consequence of losing its primary funding this summer.
Despite six years of development, the studio has yet to publicly reveal its debut title, which remains known only through two concept images. Executives noted that they actively sought new partners to sustain operations but failed to secure the necessary financial support.
Management emphasized that the workforce reduction was not a reflection of individual skill or performance. They expressed deep regret regarding the situation and have publicly encouraged other companies to consider hiring the affected developers.
While the studio intends to continue operations with a significantly reduced team, leadership acknowledged that their future remains uncertain given the current industry climate. The company stated that it will keep fighting for survival despite these challenges.
