Key information

Microsoft has reportedly secured an agreement making Xbox Cloud Gaming the exclusive cloud service permitted to stream Grand Theft Auto 6 at launch. This claim comes from The Verge's Tom Warren based on sources familiar with Microsoft's plans, following an internal town hall where Xbox CEO Asha Sharma mentioned an upcoming GTA 6 initiative that no other platform holder is executing.

Neither Microsoft nor Rockstar Games has officially confirmed the arrangement, and the duration of the reported exclusivity remains unclear alongside whether cloud streaming will necessitate purchasing the game.

The release is scheduled for November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Rockstar yet to announce a PC version. Because Xbox Cloud Gaming operates on PCs, it could potentially serve as the sole official launch avenue for PC players without a console, while rival cloud services would presumably face delays.

At the same time, Microsoft is launching monthly cloud play caps in November, restricting Game Pass Ultimate to 15 hours, Premium to 10 hours, and Essential to 5 hours, with options to purchase additional hours or utilize a pay-as-you-go model for non-subscribers.
