Key information
Gears of War: E-Day has achieved a significant milestone on Steam, reaching a peak of 20,374 concurrent players during its early access period. This performance marks a new record for the franchise on the platform, occurring even before the game's official global release.
The title has effectively doubled the previous historical peak of Gears 5, which recorded 10,196 concurrent players on Steam. Furthermore, the game has significantly outperformed Gears of War: Reloaded, which did not exceed 5,000 concurrent users.
These figures, sourced from SteamDB, exclusively represent Steam users and do not account for players on Xbox Series X/S, the Xbox PC application, or future Game Pass subscribers. The early access phase, which began on October 1, is available to Premium Edition owners and Game Pass subscribers who purchased the Premium upgrade.
The game is scheduled for an official launch on October 6, 2026, across Xbox Series X/S and PC. Industry observers anticipate that the player count on Steam may continue to rise as the title becomes accessible to the general public.
