Key information
Alinea Analytics reports that Forza Horizon 6 is the most successful first-party game launch for Xbox and Sony in 2026. The title has secured the top position in revenue rankings by a significant margin, outperforming other major releases during the year.
Since its May 2026 release, Forza Horizon 6 has generated $579.2 million from 8.8 million copies sold on PC and Xbox. Revenue distribution shows 56.7% from Xbox, with the remainder via Steam. Additionally, 1.3 million players purchased Game Pass upgrades, contributing $82 million, while over 10 million users accessed the game through the subscription service.
Marvel's Wolverine follows in second place with $192.9 million in revenue on PlayStation 5. Alinea notes that approximately 31% of these sales are physical copies. Analysts suggest the game's short length may lead to high volume on the used market. Meanwhile, MLB The Show 26 holds third place with $192.7 million, split nearly evenly between Xbox and PlayStation.
Other notable performers include Halo: Campaign Evolved, which earned $86.6 million, and Marathon, which reached 1.7 million copies sold. Gears of War: E-Day generated $42.1 million from 311,000 units despite a lukewarm Steam reception. A PlayStation 5 port for Forza Horizon 6 is currently scheduled for early 2027.
