Key information

Escape from Tarkov’s 1.2.0.0 update introduces EXFIL Brothers, a system that links an established player with someone starting out. The experienced participant is called an operator, while the newcomer is a candidate. Playing together grants a five percent experience bonus.

Candidates receive help through equipment packages, uncommon containers and in-game money, with further rewards tied to their progress. Operators can also receive bonuses. Those rewards depend partly on which edition their linked candidate owns, so the arrangement includes purchase-linked incentives alongside its mentoring function.

The update also changes PvE. MassivelyOP reports improvements to interactions between AI-controlled characters and a prestige system aimed at players who have already reached the higher levels of PvE progression.

Quality-of-life adjustments, balancing changes and fixes accompany these additions. EXFIL Brothers therefore concerns progression and cooperation rather than a separate standalone game mode with an unrelated setting. The reported experience bonus applies to the linked partnership described in the update.
