Key information

Tomohiko Sho, the producer of the Dynasty Warriors series, has expressed a clear preference for focusing his remaining career on developing new games and sequels rather than working on remasters of past titles.

In an interview with 4Gamer, Sho explained that at over 50 years old, he is mindful of how many projects he can complete before retirement. While he acknowledges that remastering games currently unavailable on Steam is not impossible, he personally wishes to avoid such projects.

Despite his personal stance, Sho recognizes a responsibility to players who desire these products. He does not rule out future remasters, suggesting he might delegate them to other team members to maintain his focus on new development.

This discussion follows the October 1, 2026, release of Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered. Developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2, the title utilizes Unreal Engine 5 to update the original PS2 classic.
