Dynasty Warriors producer Tomohiko Sho expressed his personal preference to focus on creating brand-new titles and sequels rather than working on additional remasters of his previous works.
The latest release, Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered, utilizes Unreal Engine 5 to update the early PlayStation 2 title for its 25th anniversary. The title is available across platforms including PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, currently holding Very Positive Steam reviews.
Sho noted that any potential future remasters would hinge upon the sales and performance of this launch. He admitted a personal reluctance to handle such projects himself, noting his age and a desire to maximize his remaining career output on fresh content.
Despite his personal aversion to returning to older games, Sho acknowledged a sense of duty toward devoted fans who desire more remasters. He suggested that if future remasters are approved, leadership responsibilities might be delegated to other team members.
Additionally, Sho did not completely dismiss the possibility of porting or remastering titles that remain absent from Steam, though he mentioned he has not deeply considered those plans yet.
