Key information

An upcoming Dungeons & Dragons sourcebook brings the game into the Universes Beyond licensing scheme. Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft aims to provide a lore-heavy setting while testing modifications to 5.5 Edition regulations.

Senior game designer Joey Haeck explained that the supplement adapts dungeon boss encounters by expanding on concepts from Mythic Odysseys of Theros. Mythic creatures will regenerate health and gain new abilities upon reaching zero hit points.

Principal game designer James Wyatt and Ben Petrisor noted that real-time video game tactics are translated into turn-based options. For example, Lady Jaina Proudmoore can freeze a character to anchor an area-of-effect attack, which allies may counter using fire damage instead of restoration magic.

The release is scheduled for Nov. 17. The volume includes nine subclasses alongside greater than 40 specializations, introducing transformative choices such as the Death Knight-inspired Oath of the Ebon Blade Paladin.
