Key information

Wizards of the Coast has announced Dungeons and Dragons: World of Warcraft as the first Universes Beyond release for the tabletop role-playing game. Originally announced in July, the expansion encompasses the entire world of Azeroth up to The War Within, incorporating extensive lore, dungeons, and professions.

The expansion adapts major conflicts such as the Alliance versus Horde campaign, the Burning Crusade invasion, and the Scourge. To facilitate non-linear campaigns, the book integrates Chromie Time, allowing players to jump across different eras of World of Warcraft history.

Dungeons are designed for slower, more tactical gameplay rather than the fast-paced combat of the MMO, permitting stealth and non-combat approaches. Traditional raids are adapted into high-level dungeons featuring epic boss fights, such as Onyxia’s Lair.

The bestiary features various Azeroth creatures and prominent lore characters with translated mechanics, including Murlocs at CR1 and Arthas at CR25. Additionally, the expansion introduces professions and a more forgiving reputation system earned naturally through adventuring.

Dungeons and Dragons: World of Warcraft is scheduled to launch on November 17, arriving just before the 22nd anniversary of World of Warcraft.
