Key information
Nvidia is set to launch its DLSS 5 technology in Hogwarts Legacy on November 5th. The feature, previously criticized for drastically altering character appearances, will arrive in a significantly more subtle form than initially demonstrated earlier this year.
According to Nvidia, developers retain detailed artistic control over how the technology is implemented. Recent comparison screenshots indicate that facial transformations are now much less aggressive, avoiding the unintended aging effects observed in earlier previews.
Nvidia is also deploying an October update to the neural rendering system, which reduces the model footprint by 24 percent to approximately 118 million parameters. This update aims to lower 4K VRAM usage by 20 percent and will debut in NBA 2K27 on October 16th.
Furthermore, a new Nvidia app beta introduces a faster performance mode for Frame Generation on RTX 40- and 50-series hardware. While this mode promises up to 35 percent faster frame rates, the company acknowledges it involves minor trade-offs in overall image quality.
