Developer RafaelNGP has released a homebrew application titled PSBox Cloud Gaming for jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles. Developed partly with the assistance of Claude, this software allows users to access Xbox Cloud Gaming directly on Sony hardware.
The mod supports up to four DualSense controllers mapped for Xbox compatibility. Users install the application by extracting a file from GitHub and mounting it via a homebrew loader. Following a recent update, the tool also supports local Xbox Remote Play.
While the stream currently runs at 1080p60, the PlayStation 5 GPU can upscale the output to 4K using AMD FSR 1 or Anime4K. However, testers have reported technical issues including pink artifacts, macroblocking, and inconsistent controller vibration.
This development highlights the growing capabilities of the jailbreaking community to expand the console's functionality beyond Sony's intended design. The software is currently available for download on GitHub for those with modified systems.
