Key information
The employment tribunal involving Rockstar Games and members of the IWGB union has been extended into November. Originally scheduled to conclude this Friday, the proceedings were delayed due to lengthy witness questioning.
The extension follows a request from Rockstar's legal team for more time to cross-examine former employees who were laid off. Simultaneously, the IWGB is continuing its own cross-examination of witnesses from the studio.
New court dates are set for the 17th and 18th of November, occurring just one day before the scheduled launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. It remains uncertain if the game's high-profile release will amplify or obscure public attention regarding the legal proceedings.
The case concerns the termination of over 30 staff members in late 2025. The IWGB claims the firings were an act of union-busting, while Rockstar maintains the actions were taken due to unauthorized information sharing.
