Key information
Slitherine is set to replace Blood Bowl 3 with an upgraded title, Warhammer Blood Bowl. While the previous iteration was published by Focus Home Interactive, the new version will be managed by Slitherine. Current owners of Blood Bowl 3 will receive the new game for free, with accounts transferring over to the updated platform.
A company representative confirmed that players will retain their existing cosmetics, teams, and Warpstone currency when moving to Warhammer Blood Bowl. This clarification addresses player concerns regarding the potential loss of unspent funds before the transition occurs later this year.
The developer is currently evaluating how to handle team unlocks in the future, as the current method is subject to change. While Warpstone will remain for cosmetic purchases, the team acquisition model remains under consideration, potentially shifting toward a DLC-based structure similar to previous entries.
The Warhammer Blood Bowl beta is currently available for playtesting via Steam. Early impressions highlight quality-of-life improvements, such as a mid-match save feature, a new seven-a-side Rumble Mode, and clearer UI indicators for weather effects.
