Key information
Blizzard Entertainment is preparing for the November 4, 2026, launch of World of Warcraft: Forever, a new permanent version of the 2004 classic. The title aims to recapture the original game's essence while introducing new regions, dungeons, and systems for PC and macOS players.
A notable addition to the game is a new naming system that allows players to assign both a first and last name to their characters. The system can automatically suggest combinations based on the chosen race, intended to foster creativity and thematic depth.
However, some players have utilized this feature to create vulgar or inappropriate names, such as "Hemorrhoid Man" or "Lick Myass." Blizzard has responded by warning that these compositions violate their established naming policies.
The developer confirmed that the standard naming policy remains in effect during the current beta phase. Blizzard intends to remove access for any users who violate the terms of the user agreement, ensuring that inappropriate character names are addressed before the official release.
