Key information

Hardware maker JGINYUE has introduced a new PCIe add-in card designated as the Xscale.io, which incorporates the AMD B650 chipset, according to VideoCardz. In the Chinese domestic market, the product carries a price tag of 388 yuan, roughly translating to approximately $58, with certain currency conversions estimating it near $54.

Utilizing the Promontory 21 silicon, the expansion board equips any compatible system featuring an available PCIe slot with a 2.5 GbE network interface, two 10 Gbps USB Type-A ports, a 10 Gbps USB Type-C port, and four distinct M.2 slots alongside two internal USB 2.0 headers.

The configuration of the four M.2 slots varies across the board. The front side features two PCIe 4.0 x4 connections, whereas the rear mounts offer reduced speeds consisting of PCIe 3.0 x2 and PCIe 3.0 x1 interfaces, making the back slots more suitable for slower bulk storage devices.

Power is supplied through a 6-pin PCIe connector, and the layout includes a 4-pin header intended for a 40 mm fan that is not supplied in the package and operates at a constant fixed speed.

Undercutting similar products like Lekuo's August release and WisdPi's $199 OCuLink alternative, JGINYUE plans future variants featuring 10 GbE, a half-height form factor, and 20 Gbps USB Type-C, though international availability remains unannounced.
