This performance marks the fastest sales pace for any entry in the franchise to reach the 1 million unit threshold. According to the publisher, this result highlights the growing popularity of the series and validates strategic efforts to expand its global reach among both veteran players and newcomers.
Regarding critical reception, Bandai Namco notes that the game currently holds the second-highest position based on review aggregation sites. The title is performing at a level comparable to the 2001 PlayStation 2 classic, Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies, which remains a benchmark for the series.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is currently available for purchase on PC, Xbox Series, and PS5. The Deluxe Edition launched on September 29, followed by the Standard Edition on October 2.
