Regarding critical reception, the game holds a Metacritic aggregate score between 86-88 percent. This makes it the second highest-rated entry in the series, trailing only Ace Combat 4, which maintains a score of 89.
Released on 2nd October, the game saw strong player engagement on Steam. However, the launch faced complications regarding the included title The Belkan War, which lacked standalone functionality on PC compared to console versions.
