Key information
On October 5, 2026, Guillemot's gaming peripheral brand Thrustmaster announced the T-GT III steering controller for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, scheduled for release on December 3.
The product bundles an integrated wheel and drive unit with a load cell pedal set, marking the first time Thrustmaster has paired a main unit with load cell pedals for a Gran Turismo product. Furthermore, Thrustmaster revealed it has become an official partner of the Gran Turismo World Series esports championship.
Holding an official license for Sony Interactive Entertainment's Gran Turismo 7, the T-GT III features a Direct Axial Drive motor structure inspired by hypercars. The built-in motor delivers a constant torque of 5Nm and a peak instantaneous torque of 10Nm, allowing for low-latency, rapid responses without output plateaus under heavy loads.
The controller incorporates the proprietary HARMONY technology to generate high-frequency torque, enabling force feedback effects such as GEAR JOLT for shifting sensations and ENGINE ROAR to resonate with engine speeds in Gran Turismo 7. The leather-finished steering wheel also includes four rotary encoders around the hub configured for the game.
Thrustmaster plans to continue updating the software and firmware for the T-GT III in alignment with future updates to Gran Turismo 7.
