Key information

Blaze Entertainment has announced on its official website that the release of the "C64 Handheld" and "Spectrum Handheld" has been postponed from the previously scheduled date of October 15, 2026, to April 22, 2027.

The company stated that the delay is due to certain aspects of the product structure failing to meet required standards. Although the team considered addressing some of the issues to still launch within 2026, they ultimately decided on the postponement to ensure they deliver the best possible experience. Meanwhile, the "EVERCADE NEXUS" handheld console remains unaffected and is scheduled for release on October 30, 2026.

The "C64 Handheld" and "Spectrum Handheld" are fold-style portable gaming devices inspired by 1980s home computers, specifically the Commodore 64 and the ZX Spectrum from 1982. Each unit comes with 25 built-in games and supports adding new titles via an SD card.

Both devices feature a 4.3-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 840x480 pixels, measure 136mm in width, 86mm in depth, and 26mm in height, and weigh 235g. They are equipped with a built-in battery that provides over 3 hours of operation, and are priced at 129.99 dollars.
