Domestic gold prices fell compared to the previous trading day, influenced by a weaker international gold market trading in the 4100달러 range. According to the Korea Gold Exchange, pure gold priced at 3.75g decreased when buying and selling, while international spot gold prices also registered lower levels.
Retail prices for 18K and 14K gold fell when selling, with 18K dropping by 2200원 and 14K decreasing by 1700원, whereas their buying prices are determined by product pricing. Platinum and silver prices also experienced declines across buying and selling categories.
Market factors affecting these precious metal values include high United States long-term Treasury yields and a strong dollar, which limit gold gains since gold produces no interest. Additionally, international oil prices and United States employment data remain key economic variables.
In contrast to retail rates, the Korea Exchange gold market recorded an increase for 99.99% pure gold per 1g. The Korea Exchange notes that retail prices differ from exchange rates due to varying transaction methods and value-added taxes, while remaining subject to international prices and exchange rates.
