Epic Games and Psyonix have introduced Rocket Rundown, a new end-of-season summary tool for Rocket League. Unlike previous recaps that focused on celebrating spectacular goals and highlights, this edition adopts a punitive approach designed to expose technical shortcomings and provide a factual assessment of player performance.
The tool utilizes a technological transition initiated in autumn 2024 to aggregate comprehensive statistics. By accessing a dedicated web interface via an Epic Games account, users receive a structured dashboard that highlights failures, such as poor shooting accuracy or losing streaks, rather than traditional medals.
Rocket Rundown compares individual statistics against the global player base to provide objective context. The algorithm analyzes positioning and aerial versus ground maneuvers, revealing that a majority of users remain in Gold and Platinum ranks. This data-driven feedback is intended to dismantle common excuses regarding teammates and provide a realistic view of skill levels.
To encourage engagement with this critical feedback, developers offer exclusive in-game cosmetic titles based on the player's identified style. Beyond these rewards, the platform generates a downloadable summary card. The developers intend for this analysis to serve as a pedagogical roadmap, urging players to use their identified weaknesses as a lever for competitive improvement.
