German manufacturer Tuxedo Computers has introduced the Stellaris 16 Gen 8, a 16-inch laptop designed as a desktop replacement. This device features Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processors paired with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 through 5090 series graphics cards.
The system utilizes an internal cooling array with three fans capable of handling 240 W of combined power. Users may opt for the Tuxedo Aquaris external docking station, which circulates distilled water through internal pipes to enhance thermal performance, though this addition restricts the portability of the 2.8 kg machine.
Display options include a 300 Hz IPS panel, a 300 Hz Mini-LED with G-Sync, or a 240 Hz OLED screen. The chassis supports up to 128 GB of RAM and dual M.2 SSD slots, with the battery and internal components accessible by removing the bottom cover.
Pricing for the base model begins at €2,350, excluding VAT and import duties. This entry-level configuration includes an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, an RTX 5070 Ti, 16 GB of RAM, and a 500 GB SSD running Tuxedo OS.
