To commemorate the second anniversary of Metaphor: ReFantazio, SEGA has released a prologue demo for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version. This version is scheduled for release on November 12, 2026. Players can experience the game's opening story, and save data from this demo is transferable to the full retail product.
The game features a combat system known as Fast & Squad Battle. Additionally, a web-based experience titled Trials of the Blade is now available, allowing users to engage in a simplified version of the combat mechanics by swiping on their screens. However, this web content differs in specifications from the main game.
Regarding hardware functionality, the main game does not support the Joy-Con 2 motion controls on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform. Players interested in the title can purchase the standard edition or the ATLUS Brand 35th Digital Anniversary Edition, which includes digital art books, soundtracks, and DLC.
Pricing for the standard edition is set at TWD 770 or HKD 187, while the anniversary edition is priced at TWD 1,390 or HKD 338. Pre-orders for the digital version must be completed by November 11, 2026, at 23:59 JST to qualify for specific bonuses.
