Developer Undead Labs has confirmed that State of Decay 3 will feature a new beta testing phase on PC. The team stated that development is progressing at a good pace, even following changes at Xbox last month that made the studio independent.
In a message shared on the game's official Discord channel, the team announced that the tests are approaching. The studio is currently putting the final touches on the build and will reveal the exact start date in the coming days.
Set several years after the original outbreak in a world where humanity has nearly vanished, State of Decay 3 retains its core focus on teamwork, base building, and survival with friends against new dangers. This upcoming beta will serve as the first chance to evaluate the team's new gameplay mechanics and ideas.
Despite the studio's shift toward independence from Xbox, State of Decay 3 remains scheduled for release on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
