Developer Undead Labs has confirmed that State of Decay 3 is moving forward with its development despite significant layoffs, studio closures, and an independent split from Xbox after eight years under Microsoft. The open-world zombie survival action game, published by Xbox Game Studios for PC and Xbox Series, will feature a closed beta test scheduled for later this year.
An upcoming beta test has now been confirmed via the official game Discord server. Developers stated that they are currently working on the PC beta and only need to make a few final adjustments before it becomes available, with a specific release date expected to be announced in a matter of days.
While PC players will have immediate access, users hoping to play the beta on PlayStation 5 or Xbox will have to wait for a future date, though it has been confirmed that console players will eventually be able to participate. Interested players can already sign up for the waitlist.
